Abstract

Few corporate announcements have had the effect on entire academic disciplines that Eastman Kodak’s 2003 decision to stop manufacturing slide projectors had on Art History. The known world of sideby-side slide projection, large luminous images, well-organized institutional collections, last-minute lecture preparation, excellent commercial suppliers, and easy in-house production to support even the most specialized of topics seemed on the verge of sinking like Atlantis into a sea of unknown digital waters.
