Abstract
In 2009, IUPUI University Library began tracking open access borrowing requests and has seen a substantial increase in their number since then. Even though open access materials are free for all, library users continue to request them through interlibrary loan. Using open access materials to fill Interlibrary Loan requests is both a service to users and a cost savings for the library. In this presentation, I will demonstrate the open access resources most commonly used by University Library's Interlibrary Loan department to fill requests. I will also discuss possible workflows for handling requests for open access materials.
