Abstract

Girl Help, My Executives Aren’t Functioning: Accommodating Neurodivergence in Supervision explores how supervisors can better understand and support neurodivergent employees by recognizing the role of executive functioning in workplace success. The session provides an overview of neurodiversity and the conditions it encompasses, clarifying common misconceptions and highlighting how executive dysfunction (often influenced by factors such as stress, sleep, and disability) impacts task initiation, organization, emotional regulation, and problem-solving. Participants learn practical strategies for reducing barriers, fostering inclusive supervisory practices, and creating accessible work environments without requiring formal documentation. Through discussion, reflection, and resource sharing, this presentation equips supervisors with actionable approaches to build empathetic, strengths-based, and neuroinclusive teams.
