Disparities in educational outcomes and opportunities persist for students of color throughout the United States. On every measure of educational achievement and attainment, race continues to be a prominent factor in widening the opportunity gap within the student population. Black and Hispanic/Latinx students consistently represent a disproportionately high number of discipline incidents, which can significantly impact a student’s future. Given the national and local focus on police reform, Indianapolis Public Schools partnered with CRISP to identify best practices for achieving racial equity in school policing. This study assesses existing IPS PD practices, policies, and procedures and how they align with racially equitable evidence-based practices.en_US
