Health care workforce shortages are impacting Indiana. The state is losing health care talent to burnout, to out-of-state competition, and in the postgraduate -to-workforce pipeline. There is a need to develop state strategies to recruit and retain the health workforce. State tax credit strategies may focus on providing recruitment and retention incentives to specific professions or for professionals working in specific geographies, or roles.
