Prior to initiating immunosuppressive therapy, pediatric dermatologists should review a vaccine history and administer any necessary age-appropriate or catch-up vaccines. Live vaccines are typically contraindicated while on immunosuppressive therapy, while inactivated vaccines are generally safe to administer.
