Retro Riley Articles

Articles written by members of the Riley Hospital Historic Preservation Committee and related content (photographs, etc.) providing background information on a variety of topics related to the history of Riley Hospital for Children. Beginning in September 2021 and written over time, the committee prepared two full essays each month with photographs and a detailed list of resources consulted which were then edited for length and posted on the Riley Hospital Facebook page. Members of the committee include Richard L. Schreiner, MD (former chair of Riley Hospital Department of Pediatrics, 1987-2009); Mary Ann Underwood (long-time Riley Hospital staff member and former assistant to past chair of Riley Hospital Department of Pediatrics, Morris Green, MD, 1967-1987); Thomas D. Lund (former librarian at Riley Hospital's Edward A. Block Family Library and archival consultant for Riley Children’s Foundation, 2000-2019); and Karen Bruner Stroup (former director of the Riley Hospital Community Education and Child Advocacy and Automotive Safety for Children Program, 1983-2011).
