The CEA program is an employment program in which community engaged faculty and staff apply for funding to employ students to provide support for courses, programs, or projects that advance the community engagement mission of IUPUI.Item Spring 2023 Jaguar Leadership Network Questionnaire Report(2023-07-11) Hahn, ThomasThe IUPUI Jaguar Leadership Network (JLN) is a comprehensive 2-year program intended to support sophomores and juniors in developing academic skills and leadership competencies through mentoring, engaged learning opportunities, leadership training and university service. This report details the results of a confidential questionnaire administered to JLN students during April 2023 to gather their perceptions of the program, as well as items on impact, retention, satisfaction, mattering, and open-ended questions.Item Bonner Leader Scholars Assessment Report (AY 2022-2023)(2023-08-11) Hahn, ThomasThis report provides the results of the end-of-year questionnaire to Bonner Leader Scholars for AY 2022-2023. The Bonner Scholars Program is a service-based scholarship program. Scholars support a variety of community organizations and pursue their interest in social issues such as food insecurity, community development, education, and sustainability. Scholars participate in trainings aimed to develop them personally and professionally, leadership opportunities through facilitating campus-wide service events, and opportunities through the Bonner Foundation to travel and engage with like-minded students. This report is an indirect assessment, based on a confidential questionnaire administered to the students in April 2023. It captures students’ perceptions of their knowledge and skills, as well as their satisfaction with various program components. Additionally, students had the opportunity to respond to open-ended questions and offer their suggestions for program improvement.Item Spring 2023 Center for Research and Learning Questionnaire Report(2023-09-15) Hahn, ThomasThis report provides the results of the end-of-year questionnaire to students participating in the Center for Research and Leaning’s (CRL) undergraduate research programs. CRL serves students through a series of undergraduate research programs overseen by faculty and program leaders. Administered through the Institute for Engaged Learning, CRL programs offer students the opportunity to carry out innovative research, scholarship, and creative activity with faculty mentors in a variety of disciplines. The CRL programs assessed in this report include the Diversity Scholars Research Program, Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Research Institute (MURI), and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program.Item IEL Students Demographic and Retention Report AY 2022-2023(Indiana University, 2023-11-01) Hahn, ThomasThe Institute for Engaged Learning (IEL) at IU Indianapolis is home to multiple engaged learning opportunities in undergraduate research, leadership, and civic engagement. This report details demographics, school of enrollment, GPA, and retention figures for students who participated in IEL programs in AY 2022-2023.Item Spring 2023 IEL Students Perspectives on “Mattering”(2023-11-01) Hahn, Thomas“Mattering” is the feeling of being significant and important to other people” with implications for student learning and well-being. This report details the results of a pilot questionnaire administered to students participating in IEL programs. It consisted of 5 items designed to measure students’ perception of mattering.Item 2023 Direct Assessment of University Profiles through Written Reflections of Engaged Learning Experiences Using the AAC&U Written Communication, Integrative Learning, and Civic Engagement VALUE Rubrics(2023-11-01) Hahn, ThomasThis report describes a direct assessment activity within the IUPUI Institute for Engaged Learning (IEL) for students participating in IEL programs during AY 2022-2023. The IEL Assessment Workgroup assessed written reflection artifacts of 100 students from 6 co-curricular programs. Using selected rows from the Written Communication, Integrative Learning, and Civic Engagement VALUE Rubrics, the raters assessed the Communicator, Problem Solver, and Community Contributor Profiles of Undergraduate Learning.Item Fall 2023 First Year Seminar Service Learning Questionnaire Report(2023-11-01) Hahn, ThomasThis report details the results of two questionnaires designed to examine First Year Seminar (FYS) service-learning courses. The first questionnaire was administered to first-year students who participated in the FYS service-learning courses. The second questionnaire was administered to the instructors who taught these courses. The courses were across multiple sections of FYS's, some were UCOL 110 sections, others were specific to schools. There were 356 students in the 13 sections of the course. All first-year students participate in activities and attend events that allow them to explore campus, get to know fellow freshmen, learn about college expectations, and much more to set them up for success at IU Indianapolis. This report details the results of a survey designed to gather student participant feedback regarding different aspects of their Bridge Week experience.
