Item Engagement of African Donors in Advancing Higher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa(Indiana University, 2024-09-30) Indiana University Lilly Family School of PhilanthropyThis white paper shares findings from three components: (1) a comprehensive review of existing academic and practical literature; (2) the key takeaways from a series of three convenings in 2023 and 2024 to promote informed dialogue on philanthropy for higher education in sub-Saharan Africa among thought leaders; and (3) a systematic review of publicly available information on development and fundraising among African higher education institutions.
