dc.description.abstractMore than 100 years ago, on June 7, 1902, a report was submitted to the United States Congress to reimburse the claimant for conducting an expedition from Fort Sheridan in 1877 to return a group of American Indians, under the leadership of Chief Crazy Horse, to their reservations. This is only one small example of the ways in which American Indians are documented in federal publications.en
