Abstract

This practicum, conducted at HANDS in Autism® in collaboration with the Indiana NeuroDiagnostic Institute (NDI), aimed to evaluate behavioral patterns in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by comparing pre-admission and post-discharge clinical data. Patient records were collected from the Cerner electronic health system and analyzed using REDCap. A qualitative content analysis approach was applied to identify recurring behavioral categories and assess changes over time. The process involved organizing raw clinical data into coded themes and performing comparative analysis to reveal behavior trends and intervention effectiveness. The findings provide insight into the success of existing behavioral treatments and help inform future updates to care plans and intervention protocols, ultimately supporting improved treatment outcomes and reduced hospital readmission rates for individuals with ASD.
