Polish law permits individuals to act collectively through unregistered groups or organizations. Article 12 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland from 1997 provides that “The Republic of Poland shall ensure freedom for the creation and functioning of trade unions, socio-occupational organizations of farmers, societies, citizens' movements, other voluntary associations and foundations.” POs are free from legal impediments from the state and from onerous registration requirements.en_US
