The 2022 Global Philanthropy Environment Index: Africa Edition

Abstract

This research brief presents findings on the enabling environment for philanthropy in the period between 2018 and 2020 in the 13 African countries included in the 2022 Global Philanthropy Environment Index. Thirteen country experts and two regional reviewers assessed the philanthropic environment at the country level across six key factors: (1) ease of operating philanthropic organizations, (2) tax incentives, (3) cross-border philanthropic flows , (4) political environment, (5) economic environment (6) socio-cultural environment.
