Over the last 15-25 years, lean principals have evolved and been applied and promoted to the construction industry through organizations like the Lean Construction Institute (LCI). This project will demonstrate how these proven lean management principles and integrated project delivery (IPD) provide a successful alternative for delivering healthcare capital projects. In the right context, integrated project delivery and lean construction process can significantly benefit the healthcare construction industry. When planning lean projects, the project team must consider what tools and processes will be applied. The main drivers regarding lean and integrated project delivery are the owner's appetite for lean, project budget, stakeholder culture, and the project size. These variables will determine the level of lean intensity and process integration.en_US
