Item Open access in interlibrary loan: sources and strategies for locating free materials online(2012-10-24) Baich, TinaEven though open access materials are free for all, library users continue to request them through interlibrary loan. ILL staff are able to provide a service to users and a cost savings for their libraries by utilizing these materials. In this presentation, I will demonstrate open access resources that all libraries can use to fill interlibrary loan requests. Even though open access materials are free for all, library users continue to request them through interlibrary loan. Using open access materials to fill ILL requests is both a service to users and a cost savings for the library. In this presentation, I will demonstrate the open access resources most commonly used by University Library's ILL department to fill requests. I will also discuss possible workflows for handling requests for open access materials.
