Item Assessment of User Response to IUPUI University Library: 1999-2003 Studies, Report to David Lewis of IUPUI University(2003-08-20) Stamatoplos, Anthony C., 1958-; Mackoy, RobertThis report describes an ongoing assessment of services at the IUPUI University Library. It is the first comprehensive assessment of University Library service, though several ad hoc surveys have been administered over the past several years. A few small surveys had been conducted, focusing on interlibrary loan services and computer workstation needs. A large study had examined users’ experiences with, and perceptions of, University Library services as they related to library instruction for a writing course. That study looked at patron expectations of, and satisfaction with, library services. Certain "drivers of satisfaction" were identified, but they could not necessarily be generalized to University Library patrons as a whole. The current study builds upon that research.Item Focus group research in the academic library: An overview of the methodology(Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries (QQML); http://www.qqml.net/March_2013_issue.html, 2013-03) Weare, William H., Jr.Through the use of focus groups, academic librarians can discover what students really think, feel, need, and want. Equipped with this knowledge, librarians will be better positioned to design and deliver effective programs, improve services, and shape the development of facilities to better meet the needs of current and future users. Concerned about the efficacy of various library programs and initiatives at Valparaiso University (Valparaiso, Indiana, USA), two public services librarians conducted a series of focus groups with undergraduate students to gain a better understanding of their perceptions of the library. This paper provides an overview of the focus group methodology employed in this study.Item The journey to improve digital user experience(2014-09-08) Lee, Yoo YoungA library website is a confluence to connect users with resources, information and knowledge. In order to provide extensive information and knowledge for their users through library websites, academic libraries tend to subscribe to various technologies such as LibGuides, integrated library systems (ILSs), discovery services, and CONTENTdm. However, it is challenging to integrate a variety of technologies into a web presence for a more dynamic and holistic experience. This poster will describe the design project for usability and steps that the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) University Library has undertaken to improve digital user experience on its website. In addition, the poster will demonstrate hands-on examples of how the IUPUI University Library has integrated and streamlined various technologies into a unified web presence through all library web pages.Item The Things We Will Learn from LibQUAL+™(2002) Lewis, David W.Reviews what the author believes will be the results of the use of LibQUAL+™. Only in part is the article tongue in cheek.
