Smith in 1977, the United States Supreme Court has been relatively silent concerning the constitutional rights of inmates to have access to the state and federal court systems. In recognition of the revitalization of an important duty, this article identifies and analyzes the obstacles confronting an Indiana prison librarian when selecting academic materials and making such materials accessible to offender-patrons.
