Caring for Kids: Hard-to-Find Facts for Parents About Child Health & Development
(Riley Children's Health, 2009) Klemsz, Abigail; Keener, Patricia A.
In 2001, the Riley Children’s Foundation sponsored Dr. Keener’s authorship of "Caring for Kids," and facilitated statewide distribution of several hundred thousand free copies to physicians and their patients around the state. The book offered a wealth of information and tips not found in traditional parenting books and was prepared by Dr. Keener and her staff with the input from other physicians, health care professionals, and parents throughout the state. In 2009, a second edition of "Caring for Kids" was written by Dr. Abigail Klemsz and Dr. Patricia Keener.

Use of a Structured Early Intervention to Improve Student Success
(2020-03-06) Howley, Liam; Klemsz, Abigail; Matthews, Kelly; Mehta, Rakesh
Indiana University School of Medicine has a competency-based curriculum with defined milestones that students must achieve to graduate. Early identification of students with challenges in these competencies enables educators to quickly intervene to help ensure these students achieve those competency specific milestones. Area of Concern (AOC) was developed to allow faculty to recognize and identify “low level” concerns in a course/clerkship/elective and to facilitate the opportunity for additional coaching by the Lead Advisor before these behaviors lead to a significant impact on grades.

Using RoadMAPs to Enhance the Coaching Relationship
(2021-04-22) Henninger, Lauren; Klemsz, Abigail; Lewellen, Courtney
Prior to Lead Advisors (LAs) being brought on in 2015, communication with students was done through listservs and email from multiple sources, making it challenging for students to discern the importance of advising information. In order to allow LAs time to have coaching conversations with their students, RoadMAPs were developed to cover the nuts and bolts of the advising conversation. These RoadMAPs ensure that every student receives the same information at the same time statewide which provides greater equity in advising.
