Teaching Skills in International Research Ethics (TaSkR) is the annual workshop hosted by the Indiana University – Moi University Academic Research Ethics partnership (IU-Moi AREP), a program supported by a recently renewed 5-year grant from the Fogarty International Center at the National Institutes of Health. This annual IU-Moi AREP highlight is designed to build research ethics capacity at both universities.

  • Overall Objective: Enable participants to learn pedagogical methods and acquire skills for teaching international research ethics.
  • Learners: Faculty and students involved (or intending to become involved) in teaching and mentoring students in international research settings.
  • Teachers: Experts in international research ethics, including those from other Fogarty-funded programs.

Different Pedagogical approaches are used including lectures and case studies built in to TaSkR, which presents opportunities for “teachable moments."
