Abstract
Description
Developed through the 2008 William B. Hanrahan CCS Fellowship, An Analysis of Million Dollar Gifts (2000-2007) is the first comprehensive look at gifts of seven-figures and above ($1 million or more) in the United States. This work concentrates on review and interpretation of data that may be of particular interest to those who seek contributions at this level. It describes gifts based on: the purposes of the gifts; whether the gifts were made by an individual, couple or family; “donor types” according to sources of wealth; and the links or connections between the donors and recipient institutions. Data come from the Million Dollar ListTM at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University
