Abstract
In 2025, Riley Children’s Health received the "Indiana History Outstanding Event or Project Award" from the Indiana Historical Society. The award was presented on November 19, 2025 in the hospital’s original lobby where Riley Hospital’s first patient, Mark Noble, entered when he was admitted to Riley Hospital on November 19, 1924. During the event, the Indiana Historical Society recognized three Riley Hospital centennial projects: 1) publication of Cherishing Each Child: Riley Hospital for Children, 1924-2024, the hospital’s first comprehensive history book; 2) production of seven centennial videos that spotlighted Riley Hospital’s pioneering leadership in family centered care, pediatric heart surgery, infectious diseases breakthroughs, the Berlin Heart, anesthesia and cochlear implants, and research and the Wells Center; and 3) creation of two digital platforms to forever house Riley Hospital history resources.
