Abstract

MIT Science Policy Review spoke with Professor Bahram Moasser about the importance of intersecting art and science to foster creativity and interdisciplinary thinking during scientific training. Prof. Moasser is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame. He has designed a core curriculum course that explores the shared virtues, values, methods, and practices of art and chemistry. In addition to conducting experiments to learn about the science of art, Prof. Moasser collaborates with curators at Notre Dame’s Raclin-Murphy Museum of Art to encourage students’ visual and art literacy.
