Abstract

This report presents Indiana’s 2019 statewide health workforce data compiled from licensure records and mandated survey responses under Senate Enrolled Act 223-2018. It provides active license counts across all regulated health professions, outlines the transition to mandatory data collection for selected boards, and summarizes available information on practice characteristics, education, specialties, practice settings, and services delivered. The report includes board-level tables for medicine, nursing, dentistry, behavioral health, psychology, pharmacy, and additional professions, along with cross-profession categories such as education pipelines, workforce development indicators, Medicaid participation, and health system roles. While detailed SEA‑223 data were not yet fully available for all professions due to renewal cycle timing, the report establishes the framework for consistent, annualized workforce monitoring statewide.
