Abstract

This report presents an analysis of the Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) workforce in Indiana. Based on data collected during the 2023 license renewal cycle, the report examines license renewals, demographics, education, employment characteristics, practice settings, specialties, services provided, and populations served. Key findings include high rates of active licensure (99.4%), a predominantly female and White workforce, and significant engagement in hospital and outpatient settings. The report also highlights geographic disparities in nursing capacity across Indiana counties and provides detailed breakdowns of services such as addiction treatment, obstetric care, and pediatric and adult population coverage.
