Easterling, Wylie2011-03-222011-03-222011-03-22https://hdl.handle.net/1805/2539This paper examines literature on and related to the definition of faculty collegiality in both U.S. and international higher education institutions. Using existing definitions and frameworks for what collegiality is and is not, it explores the differences in these definitions and frameworks and emphasizes the complex and difficult task of trying to define collegiality. Additionally, gender, ethnicity, faculty status and national context are considered as possible factors in how the literature defines collegiality. Together, these activities seek to offer a guide and summary of what is being said about faculty collegiality, with the hope that others can use this as a foundation for further research on the topic.en-UScollegialityU.S. facultyCollegiality: A Singular Concept?Article
