The research question addresses the following: Is there a correlation between educational attainment (GPA) among IUPUI undergraduates as reflected by their leisure reading and leisure activity satisfaction scores? It is hypothesized that students with high satisfaction scores in recreational reading or leisure activities or both predicts academic success as measured by their cumulative GPA via OneStart. A convenient survey sampling methodology was used to collect the data from students with a class standing of sophomore and higher. This research study is currently in data collection phase and preliminary analysis is expected in April.
