The increase of PA training programs is cited as a response to the shortage of physicians, particularly in primary care settings . Information and evaluation of the supply, distribution and characteristics of Indiana’s PA workforce is crucial to identifying workforce shortages and understanding this professions ability to ensure the medical needs of Hoosiers are met.
